Soil structure interaction model for colosseo in rome in view of dynamic characterization

Abstract eng:
In the present paper, we are interested to show evidently the needed care to prepare the model: the soil structure must be enough large, to accomplish or not the soil structure produce totally different results, the evident cracks must be introduced as disconnections of the model. This model will be used for: dynamic characterization, traffic noise, earthquake analysis. A new methodology is used for the dynamic analysis of soil structure interaction due to trains’ transit, by means of two models. The strengths on the track, due to trains’ transit, are evaluated by the first model, 3D rigid bodies based, and are applied on the second F.E. model concerning the soil structure interaction. The process is applied to Colosseo area. The obtained time histories are carried out and will be used for dynamic characterization. Many dynamic tests exist in everywhere of monument area. The interest on monument preservation exposes all them to seismic hazard. The improvement of collapse PGA imposes a collapse analysis.
