The Impact of Underground Tunnelling on the Acceleration At Ground Surface During Earthquake

Abstract eng:
The seismic response of structures overlaying soil strata has been extensively studied. Also, numerous studies can be found in the literature regarding the deformations imposed on structures during the excavation of tunnels in suburban areas. However, the impact of the presence of a tunnel on the seismic response of overlaying structures has drawn very limited attention.
