A dynamical study on the north pacific low-latitude western boundary currents

Abstract eng:
A weakly-coupled evolution model of stratified ocean is proposed to build upon our knowledge on the interacting mechanism of North Pacific Low-Latitude Western Boundary Currents (NP-LLWBCs), which takes the influence of the surface wind forcing, dissipation and understratum configuration into account. The solvability of its initial and/or boundary problem is established, moreover, some analytical and numerical results on the dynamical behaviour of the currents are advanced by its simplified versions, including our comment on the decadal variability in the bifurcation of the North Pacific Current.
