Geometric Relation of Vortices of Different Scales in Turbulent Flow

Abstract eng:
In th this study, a novvel skin-friction reducing polym mer named FDR R-SPC (Frictionaal Drag Reductioon Self-Polishinng Copolymer) hhas been synthesizeed. The drag redducing functionaal radical such ass PEGMA (Polyy(ethylene) glycool methacrylate)) has been utilizeed to participatee in the synthesis prrocess of the SPC C. The types of the baseline SPC C monomers, thhe molecular weiight and the molle fraction of PE EGMA were variied in the synthesis process. In the high-Reynoolds number floow measuremennt with a flushh-mounted balannce and a LDV V (Laser Doppler Velocimeter), tthe skin friction of the present F FDR-SPC is fouund to be smalleer than that of sm mooth plate in thhe entire Reynoolds number rangge, with the averagge drag reductionn efficiency beinng 13.5% over thhe smooth plate.
