Enhanced acousto-optical coupling of surface waves in an air- slot phoxonic crystal cavity

Abstract eng:
In his paper, a two-dimensional air-slot phoxon c crystal cavity is designed to confine the a oustic and optical surface wa es simultaneously. The enhanced acousto-optical coupling of the acoustic and o tical surface c vity modes is discussed by including the moving interface and hotoelastic eff cts. The frequency modulations of the phot nic cavity modes induced by the phononic cavity modes re calculated. The results show the dependence 0 the acousto-op ical coupling st ength on the width of the air- s ot.
