Modelling and Experimental Characterization of Diaphragm Pumps and Tubing

Abstract eng:
The following work presents the basic components of fluid systems containing liquid diaphragm pumps. First, the elastic components of liquid diaphragm pumps are isolated and a mathematical representation for these elements is introduced. Then a formalism for the behaviour of polymer tubing is presented, which is then combined with the model of the diaphragm pump and other simple fluid system components. Measurements of such fluid systems are then compared with simulation results.
