An elasticity theory with defects
Abstract eng: Defect, scale effect and couple stress are obviously different but all inevitable in extending the classical theory of elasticity, just like different aspects of a thing. In this paper, based on the "micro-finite element" model of continua, an elasticity theory with defects is constructed through some relaxation of geometric constraints in deformation. The equilibrium equations are derived from the virtual work principle.
