Vibration of a Simply Supported Circular Plate under Moving Points Loads

Abstract eng:
Here, undamped dynamical response of a circular simply supported plate at the periphery due to an arbitrary moving point loading is obtained in the closed form using Green’s function approach. The plate material is taken to be linear elastic, homogeneous and isotropic. Specifically, in this paper the transverse response of the plate due to a single point load q moving circularly at the fixed radius with constant angular velocity is calculated. Subsequently, the response due to three q/3 loads moving circularly at the same radius and same angular velocity but with 1200 phase is compared with the previous calculation. The FFT of time response in both the cases contains the spectral lines at the natural frequencies, however, in the later case other than the first mode all other modes are quenched significantly.
