Turbulent premixed Bunsen flames over a wide range of Reynolds number

Abstract eng:
A set of turbulent premixed flames is simulated to investigate the effect of Reynolds number on the flame characteristics. Emphasis is placed on the overall characteristics of the flame and on the fractal dimension of the flame surface. It is found that the flame length decreases as the Reynolds number increases suggesting an increase of the turbulent flame speed with the Reynolds number. The fractal dimension of the flame surface is 2.6 and does not show a significant dependence on the Reynolds number.
