Reliability assessment of structure expressed to impact
Abstract eng: The paper briefly reviews one of the proposed probabilistic assessment concepts. The potential of the proposed concept and of the corresponding software is emphasized. The new edition of the Czech specification for structural design, ČSN 73 1401 (1998), already contains provisions allowing for application of probabilistic concept, using criterion Pf < Pd, where Pf is the probability of failure and Pd is the target probability defined in specifications. The reliability referring to carrying capacity of a steel beam exposed to an impact is expressed by probability of failure.
