The static equilibrium position of the center of the shaft of cavitated and uncavitated journal bearings


Abstract eng:
The contribution deals with computational modelling of static equilibrium position of centre of the shaft under the cavitated and uncavitated journal bearing. There are compared two accesses. The first is based on the Navier - Stokes equation, equation of continuity and boundary conditions. There are compared two methods of solution in the first access. The second access is based on the Reynolds equation of motion of fluid in the bearing.
