Boundary-layer stability of a generic reentry capsule with real-gas effects


Abstract eng:
On the base of a generic Apollo capsule geometry, the present work focuses on the influence of high-temperature gas effects on the flow around the windward side of the blunt body. By means of Direct Numerical Simulations and Linear Stability Analysis, the influence of chemical dissociations and non-equilibrium on the stability of the boundary layer will be investigated.
