Tidal flushing of semi-enclosed basins (INVITED)
Abstract eng: Summarl The tidal flushing of coastal basins is studied both experimentally and numerically. Two key parameters are the shape of the basin and the position of the connection to the open sea. For the case of a rectangular basin, the opening position has been varied systematically, and three different flow regimes have been observed, with different flushing characteristics.
