Experimental characterisation of ln2 sloshing by means of non-intrusive optical techniques

Abstract eng:
The main goal of this work is to present the possibility to characterize the free surface shape and the velocity field of liquid nitrogen contained in a partially filled cylindrical transparent vessel during cryogenic (LN2) sloshing. The results obtained will be compared with the one already performed using water as test fluid in order to verify semi-empirical formulas generally used for fluid sloshing.
