Topology optimization and design of solid particles in suspension

Abstract eng:
A methodology for the design of solid particles in suspension is presented as an extension of the material design problem in topology optimization. The tensor describing the interactions of the particles with the surrounding fluid is provided as a target and shapes of particles matching this mobility tensor are identified. The theoretical framework describing the motion of single and ensemble of particles is introduced and discussed in the context of its application to topology optimization.
