Mechanical considerations on traction force microscopy


Abstract eng:
In the present contribution we present a study on critical factors that should be considered to fully exploit the great potential provided by non-linear traction force microscopy approaches. To this end, various influencing factors are studied numerically in benchmark examples based on experimentally observed cellular traction fields using a custom, finite element based framework to analyze traction force microscopy experiments on highly deformable substrates.
