Control of complicated stress oscillations in FGPM thin plates (INVITED)

Abstract eng:
One-dimensional electro-elastodynamic problems in fianctionally graded piezoelectric material (FGPM) thin plates subjected to uniform impact pressures are analyzed and exact analytical solutions are presented. Numerical results show that the behavior of stress oscillation obtained under electric charge-free boundary conditions is different from it derived under prescribed electric potential boundary conditions. The applied voltages which completely suppress the complicated stress oscillations are determined from the analytical solutions.
