Solitons and solitonic structures: What is visible and what is hidden


Abstract eng:
Wave propagation in nonlinear dispersive media is studied in the present paper. It is well known that if there exist a certain balance between nonlinear and dispersive properties of the media solitary waves, solitons, and solitonic structures can emerge. We analyze results of numerical experiments carried out for different model equations and demonstrate how to detect hidden solitons in emerged solitonic structures.
