Investigation of single crystal deformation with continuum dislocation dynamics

Abstract eng:
Continuum dislocation dynamics (CDD) is a method to predict the behavior of material under load. In this study CDD is used to find dislocation density in desired domain. By pairing CDD with Orowan constitutive law, the shear strain rate under unidirectional load is investigated and the plastic strain rate is obtained. Then, the plastic strain rate is used to calculate and plot the Stress — Strain relation.
