Parametric and internal resonance of axially accelerating viscoelastic beams

Abstract eng:
Transverse vibration of axially moving beams is currently attracting considerable attention. Historically, the vibration of axially accelerating beams has been an important subject of research in the geometrical non-linearity. The beam tensions were assumed to be uniform along the longitudinal direction in all available works [1-2]. If we assume this, the beam moves in a nonzero acceleration. Therefore, the assumption cannot be exactly held. To address the lack of research in above mentioned aspect, the tension variation in the longitudinal direction is first brought in axially moving materials by Chen and Tang [3]. The coefficients in the governing equations depend not only on the temporal variable but also on the spatial variable.
