Psychoacoustic parameters of auto cab from mathematical modelling

After a short introduction to psychoacoustic parameters evaluation the most common methods of mathematical acoustic modelling - ray tracing and the image source model- are discussed briefly. It is shown how the information contained in an echogram obtained by ray- tracing can be used for the determination of psychoacoustic parameters of an enclosure. The process is applied for the evaluation of the speech intelligibility index in the vehicle cab for different sound sources (radio loudspeakers or passenger). The modelling is performed in system Raynoise and the cab of Skoda Octavia Combi is used as the modelling entity.
