Reliability analysis using Monte Carlo simulation and bounded histograms of input random variables
Abstract eng: The subject of the paper is the probabilistic safety assessment of an unbraced steel frame containing leaning columns and exposed to several variable loads. Reliability analysis is based on the SBRA method, where direct Monte Carlo simulation technique and bounded histograms of input random variables are employed. The effect of various kinds of geometrical imperfections and variability of material properties are taken into consideration.
