Control by blowing of the separated flow in a channel with a stepwise expansion


Abstract eng:
This paper is concerned with prospects of control of narrow channel flow behind a backward-facing step by blowing / suction near the step foot at high value of Reynolds number Red =5.104 (based on hydraulic diameter dh of the inlet channel and the bulk velocity Ue just upstream the step edge). The slots differ in both the orifice shape (rectangle or serrated) and area ( 50 375 10 6 m 2 ) of its cross-section.
