Oblique inclined surface voids of thick-walled concrete structures of nuclear power plants --- numerical simulation of impact-echo diagnostic method.

Abstract eng:
Nuclear power plants safety can be significantly affected by defects of ageing concrete structures. To extend lifetime it is necessary to do their inspection by various methods. The ways, how to do it more quickly, cheaply and reliably, are still looking for. Advanced Impact-Echo method seams to be very hopeful. It is based on the reflection of elastic waves from discontinuities and inhomogeneities. The paper continues previous works. The numerical simulations of the fast transient processes around of inclined voids with the various angles to the surface are presented here. The main goals are detection and localization of voids and evaluation of the variable inclinations effects. The experimental verification at the true size reinforced concrete will follows.
