Modelling of multibody systems in the local frame (INVITED)


Abstract eng:
A local frame finite element approach is proposed to describe the kinematics of a flexible multibody system, derive the equations of motion and solve them numerically. It is argued that this approach leads to reduced geometric nonlinearities and improved computational efficiency.
